Free Crochet Pattern: Baby Bear

Arms (Make 2)

  1. 2 ch, 6 sc into 1st chain
  2. 6 inc (12)
    3–4. 12 sc (2 rows)
  3. 3 sc, 3 dec, 3 sc (9)
    6–11. 9 sc (6 rows)

Fold the top of the arms flat and crochet 4 sc through both sides. Stuff only the bottom of the arms. Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing.


Legs (Make 2)

With beige yarn:

  1. 2 ch, 6 sc into 1st chain
  2. 6 inc (12)
  3. (1 sc, 1 inc)*6 (18)

Switch to brown yarn:

4–6. 18 sc (3 rows)

  1. 5 sc, 4 dec, 5 sc (14)
  2. 5 sc, 2 dec, 5 sc (12)
    9–15. 12 sc (7 rows)

Fold the top of the legs flat and crochet 6 sc through both sides. Stuff only the bottom of the legs. Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing.


Muzzle

YamArt Jeans № 05, 2 mm hook.

  6. 2 sc, 1 inc, (4 sc, 1 inc)*5, 2 sc (36)
  7. 36 sc, sl st

Gently stretch the muzzle to form an oval shape.


Tightening the Eyes

  1. Cut a long body-colored yarn tail and thread it through a long needle.
  2. Insert the needle at point 1 (near one eye), exit through point 2 (near the other eye).
  3. Insert at point 3 (below one eye), exit through point 4 (below the other eye).
  4. Tighten the loop along the lower edge of the eyes, adjusting for equal depth.
  5. Tie a knot, hide the tails, and cut them off.

Assembly

  1. Sew the head to the body, aligning the openings. Stuff the neck firmly.
  2. Sew the muzzle between rows 13–20 of the head.
  3. Attach the ears between rows 4–9 of the head.
  4. Embroider the nose, whites of the eyes, eyelashes, and eyebrows.
  5. Sew the arms between rows 19–20 of the body.
  6. Sew the legs between rows 9–10 of the body.

Overalls

Pants:

  1. 72 Ch + 2 Ch.
  2. Starting from the 3rd Ch: 72 dc, sl st into the 1st dc. Continue in rounds, starting each row with 2 ch and ending with a sl st.
    3–10. 72 dc (8 rows).

Divide for legs: Count 36 loops, sl st into the 36th loop. Crochet 36 dc in rounds for each leg (2 rows per leg). Turn up the cuffs and sew them.

Bib:

  1. Attach yarn to the top of the pants. Crochet 17 sc + 1 Ch, turn.
    2–4. 17 sc (3 rows), turning with 1 Ch each time.
  2. Sc around the sides and top of the bib.

Straps:

  1. 39 Ch, 37 dc from the 3rd loop. Make 2 straps.
  2. Sew crosswise to the overalls and attach buttons.
